Come and make a Christmas Wreath all for yourself – a wide variety of foliage, ribbon, mistletoe, pine cones, cinnamon sticks and dried oranges for you to delve into and to whet your artistic appetite in this fun filled activity.

Come and learn/revisit skills in the New Year in my art studio in St Peters.

7 January 2024: DRAWING: learn basics of measuring, tonal values, composition, changing scale and using different media together in this crash course to give you the confidence to work by yourself going forward.

21st January 2024: MOSAIC: learn how to work in this fun media, using stones, pottery (your own pre-loved ceramics maybe) beads, shells. Looking at colour, pattern and rhythm. Bring an image to copy or use images within the workshop.

4th February 2024: ACRYLIC PAINTING: learn basics of painting using this extremely versatile medium. Create washes, over-layering effects and thick impasto finishes. Bring along an image to work from or use images within the workshop

18th February 2024: MIXED MEDIA: learn how to combine paint, collage and found objects, ink and pastel within a composition. A great way to start out with new ideas and themes, getting inspiration by looking at well known artists’ work.

NEW YEAR OIL COURSE

18th, 25th January and 1st and 8th February 2024

9.30-12.00

A short, four week course based in my art studio in St Peters. Learn how to draw out and compose an effective painting, sketching in the base colour, working on each successive layer of paint, then glazing to achieve the texture and depth associated with this traditional medium.

Suitable for all levels of ability, this will be a small, friendly class due to the space available inside my studio!

All materials are included, though please bring any you might have already at home
