It’s not all about being able to draw…..

I like this definition of creativity: to live is to have problems and to solve problems is to grow creatively.
Creativity is all about divergent thinking as opposed to convergent thinking (one solution to a problem). So, taking some tape, a pair of scissors and some string what can you construct?

May is all go at the moment – getting ready for my exhibition opening at the beginning of June (as can be seen by the messy state of my studio) as well as getting ready for the summer course in landscape painting starting this Friday which is always good fun as we are somewhat dependent upon the weather being good to us – which it is at the moment, long may it last.

Spent yesterday taking over my entry for the Summer Exhibition, the smart streets around Piccadilly were awash with artists bringing in paintings of all descriptions – power to the artists!

Art Club resumes in summer holidays!

Yesterday the eight week Art Club course finished with a session of making badges. This is an important step for the children as it allows them to see their own artwork transformed into objects that have a place in the adult world. Lots have been learnt over the past two months with more to come in the summer holidays – see you then!
