Storyboards begin…..

We are entering the last instalment of the Art Club now. The scene is set and all the Art Club members have to do is begin to peice together the story behind their constructed picture and behave like detectives for a while which in turn will help consolidate their learning.

Yesterday in Art Club we were using texture paste and sand mixed in with our paint and painting with brushes, sticks, sponges, artist’s knives, card and lastly and most exciting of all, fingers. There is something intrinsically joyful about creating with wild abandon and finding new ways of expressing yourself.

We had incredible fun yesterday drawing the mannequin and then drawing each other, which was a mixture of trying to stay still as the model and trying to draw quickly as the artist for 1 minute poses

The artists are off! changing miniscule objects like single cress stems into objects bigger than their total body mass on paper and intently studying sweets before making enormous 3D sculptures out of them. A lot of fun and indirectly learning about all sorts of risk taking exercises and loosening up skills that will translate well into all areas of life, more to follow. Well done you artists!
